Prior to the Revolutionary War there were no known settlers in this area, however many of the early settlers in the Town of Lee were Veterans of this war.  The following list was found in The History of Oneida County, written by Durant, published 1878.  Some of these veterans are buried in our local cemeteries; some moved to other locations.

 As you can see from this list, many of the names were prominent in the settling of our town.  Many of their descendants will be found on the list of those who later served in the Civil War
