Crane Family Cemetery

River Road, Marcy

This is a small family cemetery on River Road in the Town of Marcy.
This area was known as Crane Hill for many years.
The tombstones in this cemetery were copied by Virginia Ackerman on August 15, 2000,
updated by Kathleen Last on September 2, 2007.

There is a small bench in this cemetery with the following inscribed on it:

“We the descendants of the Crane’s welcome you.  Please enjoy the view.
This bench is placed here in memory of my mother, Gertrude Crane Jones 1885-1962.
Her wishes were this area to be restored.  My mother was adopted by a loving couple,
Robert H. 1852-1922 and Della Sweet Jones 1848-1918.  They lived a 1,000 feet
southwest of here.  This caring couple endowed my mother a gentle spirit.
Mother took from people pain and replaced it with love, comfort, direction and joy.
Robert C. 1910, Mildred West Jones, 1930.          May 2, 1990”
