Anna May Murphy was born in Camden,Ontario, Canada, the daughter of William & Caroline Mellon Murphy, on November 29,1880. She married William Conrad Goppert in 1913. They had 6 children; William, Anne (Sister Anne Therese), Leonard, Caroline Elizabeth (Betty), Evelyn, & Clarence. Anna May died in Utica, NY on January 20, 1925 & is buried in St. Joseph’s cemetery in Yorkville, NY. She loved to sew. She was buried in her wedding dress and the first person to be put into the new vault to await spring burial. A snowplow had to clear the way for the hearse and only 1 car could follow.
