Veronica Rose Baechle Goppert 2/2/1861-8/5/1950 She married Michael Goppert in 1855, had 5 children, two of whom died young. Her youngest was 3 weeks old when Michael was killed in a boxing match. She never remarried. She ran a grocery store at the corner of Columbia & Wiley Sts. in Utica for 20 years. Also had a tailor shop and made salads at The Ferns in Old Forge in the summer. She was a great cook of German foods and a very religious woman. She kept her own house up until the end.
