Mr. Hahn was a member of the German Rifles under Capt. Harrer and at
the outbreak
of the civil war enlisted in Company F, One Hundred and Forty-sixth
Regiment,
under Capt. Peter Claesgens. He was captured by the Confederates and
spent ten months
in Andersonville prison. After the war he settled in Deerfield, where
he made his home
until 1884, when he took up his residence on Mohawk Street.
He was a member of Post John F. McQuade, G.A.R.
