Paris

The town of Paris was organized from the town of Whitestown on
April 10, 1792.  It lies on the eastern border of the county near the southeast
corner.  The first town meeting was held on April 2, 1793 in the home of
Moses Foote in Clinton.  Some of the early settlers of the town were John and
Sylvester Butler, Benjamin Barnes, John Humaston, Theodore Gilbert and William Babbitt.
